Travis Kelce’s Tee Shot Strikes Spectator at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, NFL Star Rushes to Check on Fan

An awkward moment unfolded at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am when NFL star Travis Kelce accidentally struck a spectator with an errant tee shot during the final hole of his round.

The incident occurred on February 13 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where Kelce was competing as part of the celebrity field. Despite shouting “Fore” as a warning, the ball veered off line and hit a woman in the head, momentarily stunning the surrounding gallery.

Immediate Concern on the 18th

Kelce reacted without hesitation. As soon as he realized what had happened, he walked directly toward the spectator, later identified as Edenne Flinn, who was seated in a golf cart receiving attention.

“You alright?” he asked, clearly concerned.

According to local reports, the woman did not suffer a serious injury. Kelce stayed with her briefly, signed an autograph, and chose not to complete the hole. He finished the tournament at 10-under par, well back of the winning score.

A Repeat Scenario on the Golf Course

This is not the first time Kelce has found himself in a similar situation. In July 2024, during the American Century Championship celebrity tournament, another of his shots struck a fan in the head.

That spectator, Katie Hauss, later revealed she suffered a concussion and required stitches after being hit. Kelce reportedly checked on her as well, expressing visible remorse at the time.

Golf, even at the pro-am level, leaves little room for error. Errant shots are part of the sport, especially on courses lined tightly with spectators. While players routinely shout warnings, reaction time can be limited.

Golf’s Unpredictable Nature

The Pebble Beach layout, particularly with packed galleries, adds to the challenge. Celebrity participants, even elite athletes from other sports, do not always have the same precision as full-time tour professionals.

Kelce, known for his control and athleticism on the football field, has embraced golf in recent offseasons. But moments like this highlight how quickly control can slip in a sport where a split-second mishit can change direction dramatically.

No Serious Injury Reported

Fortunately, this latest incident ended without major consequences. The spectator was evaluated and appeared to be fine. Kelce’s immediate response helped defuse what could have been a far more troubling scene.

While the story briefly overshadowed his scorecard, the bigger takeaway is simple. Accidents happen in golf. What matters is how players respond, and in this case, Kelce did exactly what you would expect; he checked on the fan first and golf second.
