Saptak Talwar shines with tied-16th finish at Dutch Futures in Netherlands

Indian golfer Saptak Talwar continued his steady rise on the Hotel Planner Tour, finishing tied-16th at the Dutch Futures in Spijk, Netherlands, after carding yet another under-par round on Sunday.

Talwar signed off with a 1-under 70 in the final round, capping off a week of consistent golf where he managed to stay under par across all four rounds — 70-69-69-70 for a total of 6-under. His performance underlines growing maturity and confidence as he gains more experience on international circuits.

The 25-year-old Indian showed his attacking intent early, repeating birdies on the sixth and seventh holes for the second day in a row. He added two more birdies on the 10th and 13th, but dropped shots on the ninth, 11th, and 18th that kept him from pushing further up the leaderboard.

At the top, Italy’s Filippo Celli produced a stunning finish, birdieing three of his final four holes to secure his maiden Hotel Planner Tour title. Celli closed with a brilliant six-under 65, ending the week at 15-under, two strokes clear of Germany’s Hurly Long, who had briefly set the clubhouse lead at 13-under.

For Talwar, however, the week was about building momentum. With four consecutive sub-par rounds, the young Indian golfer showed his consistency and ability to handle pressure on challenging European courses. His tied-16th finish marks another step in the right direction as he continues to test himself against top international competition.
