ndian golfers made their mark across international events this week, with Anirban Lahiri finishing 25th in the LIV Golf standings, while Aditi Ashok secured her best result of the season on the LPGA Tour. Several other Indians, including Saptak Talwar, Rayhan Thomas, and Veer Ahlawat, also delivered notable performances.
Lahiri wraps up LIV Golf season
Anirban Lahiri closed out his LIV Golf season with a tied-27th finish at the Indianapolis event, shooting rounds of 67-67-69 for a 10-under total. Despite a steady performance, he ended the regular season in 25th place on the individual standings, narrowly missing out on the ‘Lock Zone’ for 2026.
As a result, Lahiri now falls into the ‘Open Zone’, where his team, the Crushers—led by Bryson DeChambeau—can either retain, trade, or release him. Lahiri has been a key contributor for the Crushers, though his future in the league will be closely watched.
The Indianapolis event itself saw Sebastian Munoz edge out Jon Rahm in a playoff at 22-under, while Rahm claimed the overall standings crown for the second straight year.
Aditi shines in Portland
Meanwhile, Aditi Ashok produced her strongest performance of 2025, finishing sixth at The Standard Portland Classic on the LPGA Tour. A sizzling final-round 67, which included seven birdies, lifted her to 17-under for the week.
This marked her second top-10 of the year and a confidence-boosting return to form.
Also making headlines was Indian-American Gurleen Kaur, who shot a superb 65 on the final day to finish runner-up—her career-best finish—just four shots behind champion Akie Iwai.
Mixed results for other Indians
- Saptak Talwar looked set for a top-5 finish at the Vierumaki Finnish Challenge, but a tough final round of 75 pushed him back to tied-27th.
- Rayhan Thomas finished tied-58th at the Albertsons Boise Open on the Korn Ferry Tour, despite a strong opening round of 65. Indo-American Julian Suri impressed with a tied-seventh finish.
- Veer Ahlawat ended tied-34th at the Danish Golf Championship. With a score of one under par, the result is expected to nudge him up the Race to Dubai rankings, though he still sits outside the top 113 required for a full card next season.
Looking ahead
While Lahiri’s LIV future remains uncertain, the performances of Aditi Ashok, Gurleen Kaur, and Julian Suri highlight the growing presence of Indian and Indian-origin golfers on the world stage. With key events coming up on the DP World Tour and LPGA Tour, Indian golf fans will be eager to see who can turn consistency into breakthrough wins.
